NORWAY

    (A) What do you know about Norway?

Norway is a Nordic country in Northern Europe which occupies the western portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Norway’s extensive coastline is home to its many fjords. During prehistoric times, it was occupied by pre Indo-European Hunter-gatherer cultures. In 1393, Norway was absorbed into a union with Denmark which resulted in a progressive decline of the Western Norse language. Interestingly, Norway has rejected the EU twice in referendums. The country is the world’s largest producer of oil outside the Middle East. Norway’s population roughly numbers 4.9 million and is mostly composed of Norwegians. For almost a decade, Norway has had the highest level of human development in the world. Its cuisine is mostly based on seafood.
